SO WHAT IS HYPNOBIRTHING?
Hypnobirthing is an antenatal course and practice which focuses on preparing expectant parents for birth through education of the birth process, relaxation and breathing techniques as well as learning about making informed choices for your birth.
The idea is that, the more knowledge you have and the more prepared you are, the better you can relax and understand what is happening during the birth process. It is about feeling confident, calm and in control to let go of your fears and allow your body to do what it was made to do.
Once you have completed the course you should feel confident that you understand the choices you can make about your birth, ways in which you can relax to have a comfortable and natural birth and what to expect in the important hour after the baby is born.
Our Hypnobirthing Course
Our Hypnobirthing course covers all the information and practice expectant parents need to prepare fully for thier upcoming birthing experience.
Topics covered include relaxation practices, learning how to control and release fear, the physiology of birth, the role of the birth partner, birth options, breathing techniques, positive visualisations and affirmations, positions for labour and birth, positive birth stories, the all important hormones involved in labour and how we can help them to do their job, induction, choices in birth and for the third stage of labour, the golden hour with your baby, and much, much more.
The 12-hour course split into four sessions (approximately 3 hours each) and also requires practice of the breathing and relaxation techniques at home.
It’s hard to put into words how incredible my birth experience was and I 100% put that down to doing The Mindful Birthing Company course with Chloe. Chloe supported us every step of the way. I always saw labour as something that I had to ‘get through’ to reach the end goal - the baby. But I feel really proud of the birth I had and quite protective of the experience and the relaxed home water birth that brought my daughter into our lives. Apart from gas and air in the final stages in the pool, I used no pain relief beyond the hypnobirthing techniques I’d learnt. It was the most transformative and empowering experience of my life and left me oozing with confidence that I can trust my intuition and body as a mother.
